We are looking for a dedicated Industrialization Engineer for our high-tech medical devices. In this role, you will be responsible for transferring development projects into series production and optimizing manufacturing and testing processes. You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams from R&D, mechanics, electronics, production, and quality assurance. The workplace is our new production site in Brügg near Biel, which includes its own staff restaurant.

Engineer for Industrialization in Optics & Mechatronics 80-100%

Tasks

  • Transfer of development projects and products into series production, in close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
  • Development of production and testing concepts
  • Optimization of manufacturing processes with regard to quality, efficiency, and reproducibility
  • Preparation of work instructions and training of production staff
  • Selection, introduction, and commissioning of assembly and test equipment
  • Development and optimization of manufacturing processes
  • Reduction of material costs and labor time through efficient process design
  • Development and implementation of test strategies (optical inspections, functional testing)
  • Participation in process risk management
  • Analysis and resolution of process deviations (root cause analysis, corrective actions)
  • Regular coordination with international partners and development teams

Profile

  • Degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics/Systems Engineering, Medical/Precision/Biomedical Engineering, or a comparable field
  • Additional knowledge in photonics, laser engineering, optics, physics, or a related discipline
  • Several years of professional experience in the medical device industry or a similar sector (e.g., precision mechanics, opto-mechanics, machinery/plant engineering)
  • Experience with CAD systems and ideally FEM simulations
  • Proficient in MS Office and basic programming skills (e.g. Python)
  • Experience in setting up mechanical, optomechanical, and optical assemblies and measurement systems
  • Independent and structured way of working
  • Hands-on mentality with strong analytical and solution-oriented thinking
  • Team player with strong communication skills and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Knowledge of relevant quality standards (e.g. ISO 9001/13485, FDA/GMP)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German
